Question: How do i learn about real estate “short sales” without spending money to learn?
I would like to know how to get involved with real estate “short sales”…I love customer service, but I want out of retail and the R.E.S.S. breed of service can save a lot of people a lot of money, as apposed to convincing them to spend more money as you so often find yourself doing in the retail environment. However, I don’t have money to spend on seminars, boot-camps and other such conveniences or money traps (should that be the case). I would really appreciate anyone who would be willing to take their time to teach me at no cost up front…and i have no problem arranging appropriate kickbacks for the kindness once I get going. Thank you in advance for your time.

Are you talking about representing sellers in a short sale? If so, you have to become a licensed real estate agent first.

If you’re talking about buying properties that are being sold as a short sale in order to buy them cheap and flip them, there are a million books at the library. I read one called Millionaire Real Estate Mentor (or something close to that) that was pretty informative.

Question: Yard sales, tag sales, “estate sales,” garage sales, etc., etc.?
Yard sales seem common in the u.s. due to the amount of excess stuff people collect…since the poorer people of egypt probably don’t have a lot of objects to resell, do those of the wealthy class have yard sales/they are pretty good in keeping what they need and want to a point where overstocking doesn’t occur as much? Or is a yard sale just not a phenomenon in egypt? Is it a cultural embarassment to participate in selling or buying at a yard sale? In general, people of all classes in the states have/buy stuff at yard sales sometimes–even people in multi-million dollar homes. The upper class just calls it by a different name, “estate sales.”
In case clarification is needed as to what my ? was although I had an obvious one in the question section w/ a question mark after the specific query…besides wondering whether the wealthy tend to hoard as much or not, my question alluded to what areas of egypt (rich or poor/perhaps there’s just a section of town) have the yard sales since I didn’t see ANY btwn. my excursions through hurghada, aswan, cairo/alex. doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, therefore I ask…

could you tell me where a good place to start looking would be since those sales are amusing at times?

I don’t really see a question here, but if you’re asking if I take part in these types of activities, the answer is yes. I deal in antiques and collectibles, so much of what I sell is found at the sort of places you’ve just described.
